I have been with Gateshead Council since 1984 as a gardener, but have been given the chance to broaden my skills by working for the Environmental Enforcement Team.

My role as an Environmental Enforcement Officer is to reduce the amount of excess waste discarded by the Public and to encourage recycling. Also making sure Businesses have trade bins and an understanding of their duty of care. As well as this, also making sure Waste Carriers have a licence for carrying waste and understand their duty of care.
