Gateshead College

Each year we help over 12,000 students achieve their aims and ambitions by offering the very best further and higher education courses. We also work with hundreds of employers providing workforce development programmes, bespoke training and apprenticeships.

We offer a vast range of full time, part time and short courses which are designed to meet the skills needs of industry, are taught by experienced lecturers and are offered in a friendly welcoming environment.

£60million investment

We’re investing £60million in a state-of-the-art campus based across 4 sites to give all our learners the best environment to succeed in their studies:

  • Our £37million Baltic Campus, due to open January 2008, is at the heart of developments on Gateshead Quayside, and will feature cutting edge facilities, great learning resources, and plenty of social areas to fit in with the café culture of the area.
  • Our state-of-the-art Skills Academy is based across two sites on Team Valley. On one site you’ll find our Automotive Centre of Excellence, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics training and our Nissan training centre. The second site opens in Spring 2008 and is home to a Construction Centre, Apprenticeship Unit and a 14-16 Centre for Vocational Training.
  • We have developed a reputation as the place to study sport through the quality of our teaching and sporting achievements at our Academy for Sport based at Gateshead International Stadium. Our students train alongside elite athletes have access to facilities comparable to anywhere in England.
  • We have Centre of Vocational Excellence status for Automotive Technology, Logistics and Business and Management.

We have great resources, ambitious plans for the future, and a lively, supportive atmosphere for staff.
